Open Area

Menu Option: Area:Open

Use the Open Area option to open a new area to view or edit. In LEAP, you always work on one Area at a time. An Area is typically a country, a region or some other bounded energy system that you wish to study in LEAP. An area contains one set of Current Accounts data (the data describing the base year of your study) and any number of alternative future scenarios.

By default LEAP is installed with one sample Area called Freedonia: a data set representing a fictitious country. If you have an Internet connection, you can also download additional sample data sets from the Open menu. To do so, select Open from Internet () LEAP will then try to open a connection to the library of sample Areas on the LEAP Internet site. This library of example Areas is being continually updated, so check back from time to time to see what is new.
