Max Stock

Max Stock specifies the maximum unit stock of a land type in units of either mass or volume per unit area (e.g. m3/ha or tonne/ha) Use this variable as an optional constraint to specify the maximum equilibrium density of stocks on a land type. This variable is only visible for land-types that produce wood and which are marked with the OtherForestry Management Practice.  By default the max stock is set to "unlimited".

When set, LEAP prevents stock densities growing above the specified value.  In situations where annual wood growth exceeds any wood cut, stocks will gradually increase until they each the specified maximum value.  Beyond that point, forest are assumed to have reach an equilibrium point where annual growth equals annual natural losses of standing wood (e.g. due to forest fires or tree deaths).

Note: This variable is visible for the land type branches shown below relevant wood resources (under the high level Resources tree branch).
