When I ran LEAP for the first time I got this error message:
    "Error installing area: _Scripts".

Then, when I open Freedonia all data are deleted, and I can't download any example on the internet because the program doesn't open any external area.

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium.

If someone knows how to fix this error please let me know.

    Thanks in advance

This is a symnptom that LEAP did not install properly. Suggest you delete the LEAP folder and install again from scratch.

I did it in two different computers, the first one has Windows Vista and the second one has Windows XP. I have installed LEAP several times from scratch and I still get the same error message.
I have formatted my hard drive and installed Windows Vista again. Then I installed LEAP from scratch and I still get the error message.
    What could be wrong?

I'm very sorry to hear about your problems. LEAP does not install device drivers or any other low level stuff affecting the operating system so there is almost no chance that installing LEAP can affect the operating system. So you really should never need to reinstall Windows. I know from bitter experience how unpleasant that can be!

My best guess is that your downloaded file setup.exe file is corrupted. This could be due to a failed or partial download. For the latest version (2008.030) the file should be called setup.exe and have a file size of 16,899,063 bytes.

I suggest you download this file again and then retry the installation. Let me know if you get any errors messages during the install. Make sure also that you have full admin rights on the account where you are installing LEAP.

I just tested this file and it installed OK on my PC. LEAP has also been test installed on many different PCs including XP and Vista in different countries so it really should be OK for you.

If other users have also witnessed this problem, please let me know.

    Best,

    Charlie

    Hello!

I have had the same problem about a year ago. I have found out that the problem occures when the computer is not connected to the internet. Try to install LEAP and use it on the computer that is connected to the internet. But I believe that this problem is solved in new versions of LEAP. So downloading and installing the latest version of LEAP must also help.

    Regards,
    Anna

Thanks, but I have installed LEAP connected to the internet. I have the program running at the moment, but I had to copy the Freedonia zip file into the folder Freedonia and then unzip it. And I can download the scenarios and put them into that folder, but some functions like open scenarios online are not working. I have to do all that stuff manually. :(

    Cristian,

It sounds like you may be using an unregistered version of LEAP. You need to apply for a license on the COMMEND web site. Once you are licensed you will receive a user name and registration code that fully unlocks the software including the browse and save options.
