Hi Cristian,
Sorry for not replying sooner.
I want to let you know that I am working on a new tool that will complement LEAP by generating national-level LEAP data sets for many countries. These data sets will be fairly simple but will include energy and GHG emissions and various macroeconomic, demographic and development indicators from sources like the IEA, the UN, the World Bank, the World Energy Council and the IPCC. The data sets will include historical data from 1971-2006 plus simple baseline projections to 2030 covering all energy demands and all major Transformation sectors.
The data sets are not intended as complete detailed analyses of countries. In many if not most countries better local data will be available. They are intended only as good "starter" data sets. That is, starting points for more detailed analyses, but ones that will hopefully make it easier to get started using LEAP for national level energy analyses and GHG mitigation assessments than is currently the case.
Once these data sets are finalized, they will be made available via the COMMEND web site. In the meantime, I expect to have draft versions ready in a few weeks. I would be happy to share the Chile data set with you and I hope that in exchange you could give me some feedback on the structure and data I have used. Similarly, I would be happy to share the draft versions of other "starter" data sets with LEAP users in other countries if they would be willing to test them and give me feedback.
Let me know if you are interested.
Best,
Charlie
