    Hello,

I am trying to fullfill exercise 1, but have some problems starting on page 15.

I can input all the exercises, but every percent is depended on household. For instance, I have 8 mill households, 30% are urban, 70 % are rural. Obvious, but then I try to say, that 25% of the 70% rural-percent have access to the grid. But there is still 25% of Households and not Rural. How can I change that? The program always tells me, that I can't.

And one other question: How can I upload the FreedoniaEX1.zip file into LEAP?

    Thank you for your help,
    Hendrik

    Hi,

Bear in mind that any group of branches marked with "percent share" units must sum to 100% across all the branches.

So if you have one branches that is the 30% urban you will need another next to it that is the 70% rural. Likewise, below those branches you will need to bifurcate each into electrified and non-electrified. Note however that all Urban households are electrified in the Freedonia example.

Overall you should end up with a tree structure whose top branches are like this:

    Demand
    +Urban
    + +Electrified
    +Rural
    _ +Electrified
    _ +Non-Electrified

NB: If you get really stuck you can always look at the Freedonia data set which comes with LEAP. That is an already complete version of the data set described in the exercises.

    Best,

    Charlie
