When working on a LEAP model, sometimes some of the values being read from Excel sheets are not being picked up properly. Non-zero values in an Excel spreadsheet are showing up in the model as zeros. It looks like the cached information in the LEAP model incorrect. I can usually resolve the problem by re-saving the Excel sheet and forcing a clearout of the cache when compiling.
Is there any way I can avoid this happening?
Is there a simpler way of clearing out the cache?

    Thanks.

    Hi Caiman,

There are a few things to know about linking to Excel spreadsheets in LEAP.

    1) LEAP only uses values from saved spreadsheets in Excel. This means that you must save a spreadsheet after making any changes before LEAP will recognize the new value.

    2) The best way to clear out the cache in LEAP is to go to Areas: Force refresh of excel links. This will recapture values from the latest saved version of a Excel spreadsheet.

All this considered, if you are finding that the Excel linking functionality is not working as it should, please give us some more information about the specific steps we would need to reproduce that problem, including version of LEAP (check Help: About) and operating system version (Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, etc.), and we will look into it.

    Best,
