    Dear Charlie,

I installed version 2008.0.0.80 but after installation, I got this message "Unable to merge new configuration. Use BDE Administrator to merge your configuration." When I run LEAP, it just hangs and cannot be used. Before installing the latest version, I can still use LEAP.

Thinking that this is a bug in the new version, I uninstallated version 2008.0.0.80 and installed an older version but I still get the same message.

If I need to use the BDE Administator to merge the configuration, can you please tell me how to do it? I can open the BDE Administrator through the Control Panel but that is the farthest I could go. I don't know how to use the BDE Administrator.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Edito

    Hi Edito,

We will look into this error and get back to you shortly.

In the meantime please reply with the following information:

    - Operating system (Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, etc.)
    - Is this error message in LEAP or in Windows?
    - At what stage of the installation process were you when you got this error message? (e.g. Mid-installation, Starting LEAP after installation, Registering, etc.)

    Thanks,

    Tory

    Hi Edito,

This error message may be due to a lack of full admin rights to your computer. This is possible if you've switched computers or upgraded operating systems since the last time you downloaded LEAP.

Here are a few things to try:

    1. Ensure that you have admin rights to your computer. This is necessary for both installing and running LEAP to properly install registry keys. In addition to being logged in as the administrator, you may need to set the properties of the LEAP program files folder to give full control to all users. For more information on where LEAP files are stored see this URL: http://tinyurl.com/5wupny

    2. Change the User Account Control (UAC) Settings on your PC (if using Vista or Windows 7). I suggest you temporarily switch off UAC (from the Windows Control Panel). If LEAP then runs OK you can switch UAC back on and gradually try setting an increased level of security in the UAC settings.

Please let me know if this resolves your issue.

    Tory

    Hi Tory,

Thank you very much. I have been given an administrator priviledge in my PC so the problem has been solved.

May I just point out one thing. When I run LEAP for the first time after installation of the latest version, I thought LEAP hanged again. The reason why it hanged was due to a hidden dialog box behind the LEAP opening box.

The hidden dialog box requires me to select an area to open. Since the dialog box was hidden behind the opening box, I didn't notice it for a while making me think that LEAP hanged again. I was just by accident that I was able to find the dialog box. I guess, this could be avoided if Freedonia is opened automatically by default when running LEAP after installation or updating to the latest version.

Thanks again. LEAP works normally on my PC now.

BTW, my windows version is XP.

    Best regards,
    Edito
