    Hello,

I have a question regarding the result for Unmet requirements in the branch Resources and the unmet requirements in the energy balance. Should they be the same for each fuel? This is, if I have 0 unmet requirements in the energy balance for electricity, should I have also 0 unmet requirements in the result under the branch Resources, electricity?

    Thank you for your time

    Hi Marta,

I think you're asking if the "Unmet Requirements" result in the energy balance view should show the same result as the "Unmet Requirements" variable in results view (Show:Transformation: Unmet Requirements).

The short answer is not necessarily. There may be demands that are unmet in a given Transformation module, but which are subsequently met by another module further down the list. On the other hand there may be demands for some fuels for which no modules produce outputs.

NB: By default, LEAP will import primary resources to meet unmet demands, so unless you change this (in the properties screen of a given resource in the resources branch) LEAP will have zero unmet requirements.

    Best,

    Tory

    Hello Tory,

I was not that what I meant... I will try to explain it better, now I've notice that my first explanation was not very good.

I'm having problems with electricity, the rest of the fuels are ok. In the "Unmet requirements" result in the energy balance view I get different results that in the RESOURCES "Unmet requirements" (Show: Resources: Unmet Requirements). It is NOT in the transformation branch.

While in the energy balance view I get logical results (mainly ceros for future years and expected values for historical years), in Resources:Unmet Requirements the minimun number I get is 600000 toe. It is a similar number to the electricity exports I've set, but according to the energy balance the electricity exports are covered. Any idea why this can happen?

    Thank you again!
    Marta

    Hi Marta,

Thanks for clarifying, now I understand.

Can you send me your dataset using the Area: Email feature so I can investigate further?
