    Error Message: Corrupt index.
    Index: C:\Users\Santiago Bautista\Documents\LEAP Areas\_Work\results.PX

Have you ever seen this type of error? if so what is the solution

    Regards

    Hi Santiago,

Let's start with the corrupt index to see if it fixes the problem.

The first thing to try would be repairing the dataset. To do this first exit LEAP and restart. Then go to Area: Manage Areas, highlight the specific area and click "Repair" on the top toolbar. This will regenerate all index files.

Let me know how this works.

    Hi Tory:

I tried your suggestion and appears the following meassege:

    Error Type: EDBEngineError
Error Message: Unknown internal operating system error.

What do you suggest as second step.

    Best Regard

    Hi Santiago,

Can you give me some more information?

    - What were you doing when problem occurred? Still clicking on results view to calculate?
    - Do you get this exact error each time?
    - What Operating system do you have? (Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, etc. )
    - What version of LEAP do you have? (check Help: About)
    - Have you submitted an error report?
    - Have you made any changes to your operating system recently?

    Thanks,

    Tory

    Hi Tory

I will answer question by question:

    - What were you doing when problem occurred? Still clicking on results view to calculate?

I changed the exogenous capacity of one plant, saved and press results and after that the problem appeard for the first time.

    - Do you get this exact error each time?

The first time I got this error and afterwards I always get the following meassege

    Error Type: EDBEngineError
    Error Message: Corrupt index.
    Index: C:\Users\Santiago Bautista\Documents\LEAP Areas\_Work\results.PX

    - What Operating system do you have? (Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, etc. )
    I have Windows Vista

    - What version of LEAP do you have? (check Help: About)
    2008.0.0.83

    - Have you submitted an error report?
I tried several times but every time appears this messeage
An error occurred while attempting to send email. Socket error #10060 Connection time out

    - Have you made any changes to your operating system recently?
    No

    Best Regards
    Santiago

    Hi Santiago,

It seems like there are a few things going on here.

    1. Firstly, I have not seen that operating system error before. Unfortunately it appears to be indicating a problem outside of LEAP, so I cannot offer any advice on how to solve that one.

    2. The corrupt index should be able to be fixed with the repair option in Area: Manage Areas. Since you are not able to do this, I suggest re-downloading LEAP just to see if this fixes the problem. I suggest deleting the LEAP settings folder (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Program Data\LEAP Settings on Windows Vista), uninstalling LEAP from control panel, and doing a full install from the COMMEND website (making sure that you have admin rights on the computer where you are installing). Once you have reinstalled LEAP, try to repair the dataset again to see if you are able to do this.

    LEAP Download URL: http://tinyurl.com/2b75q87

    3. Finally, the socket error you get when trying to send error reports is usually an indication of a firewall or unreliable internet connection that prevents LEAP from connecting to the internet and sending emails. An alternate way of sending LEAP datasets is to use the Area: Manage Areas menu option and backup the specific file (using the "backup" option in this menu) to your computer and then manually send it via email (as a normal attachment). If you have gone through the previous steps without success, please send us your dataset at leap@sei-us.org as we have some additional tools at our disposal to repair datasets.

    Best,

    Tory

    Hi Tory,
I have been getting the same error when I try to click on the results view. It was working fine up until I added transformation and distribution (exercise 1.4.1).
I don't get the error when I click on the results view in the example dataset that I downloaded.

I am guessing that this means that it is not a problem with the operating system...?

    I tried your suggestion:
The first thing to try would be repairing the dataset. To do this first exit LEAP and restart. Then go to Area: Manage Areas, highlight the specific area and click "Repair" on the top toolbar. This will regenerate all index files.

But there was no "repair" on the top toolbar (I downloaded the latest version so perhaps this doesn't exist anymore).

Do you have any other suggestions as to what I can to do solve this problem?

    Thanks,
    Florence.

    Hi Florence,

Can you please give me some more information?

    1. What is the exact text of the error message that you are getting (the above thread included several)? Do you get it every time you click Results view? Does the error message continue even when you close LEAP and re-open?

    2. What version of LEAP are you using? Go to Help: Check for Updates to ensure you are using the latest.

    3. What operating system are you using (Windows XP, Vista, 7, etc.)?

    4. Have you submitted an error report?

    Thanks!

    Tory

    the first error is
Error: NexusDB: : Query execution failed:
DDL statements cannot execute while transaction is active

    $3CA0/15520
    Type: EnxDatabase
    File UNKNOWN
    Module: nxdb
    Line: UNKNOWN
    Process:_linkproc_TnxStatementDataSet::sdHandleError

I just sent the error report.

and then I get another error which is:
Error: StaticData: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset
    Type: EDatabaseEr
    File UNKNOWN
    Module: DB
    Line: UNKNOWN
    Process:_linkproc_DatabaseError

I just sent the error report for this one but the error box came up again and now no matter how often I click cancel it keeps coming back so I have to force leap to shutdown.
I don't get the error when I click on the Results view for the example leap file that I downloaded.

I just updated leap this morning so its 2011.0.0.15. My operating system is windows 7.

    Thanks.
    Florence

    Hi Tory,
Just letting you know that I don't have this problem anymore.
I think it was something to do with the data entered at the wrong place (exogenous instead of endogenous for exercise 1.4.2.1).
Thanks anyway for looking into it.
    Best regards,
    Florence
