    Hi,

I am currently creating a model and I would like to know, how should I act, if I want to enter renewable technologies to Electricity Generation.
In LEAP I can insert hydro, wind, etc separately. But if I only have data for all the renewables together, then how should I insert data?
I can choose only one fuel to each technology. So if I created a "Renewables" technology then what should be my fuel? (I want this "Renewables" technology to consider all effects from all the renewable fuels in the results)

Or should I just search data for all renewable fuels separately?

    Thanks!

    Hi Tanel,

I suggest you create one technology called "Renewables" as would match the data that you have, and choose any renewable fuel (i.e. solar or wind) as the feedstock fuel. To start, neither of those fuels contain environmental loadings in LEAP, so it will not make a difference in terms of considering "all effects from all renewable fuels in the results."

Then I suggest you look more into what makes up the renewables in the area and create environmental loadings accordingly based on your assumptions.

I would recommend searching for more detailed data if your mitigation scenarios would benefit from being able to add more wind than solar rather than just meeting a supply requirement from all renewables.

    Best,
