    Hi Tory

Thank you for all your quick and detailed assistances in handling LEAP. It is of great help and it is this interaction that makes me more confident in handling LEAP.

    I have one more clarification.

What exactly is meant by yield in supply side?
I understand that we have to enter the availability of renewable resources here. What I need is your help in simplying what it really means?

    Take for example solar energy.
Do I enter the potential(reasonable) capacity of solar energy technologies ? or the installed capacity of solar technologies?

If it is not either of them, then what is it exactly?

    Rgds

    Hi Sarada,

Have you seen the documentation on this variable? If not please see the link below.

The yield variable is meant for situations where you would like to do a resource analysis. I recommend that you read up on this in the user guide:

Remember that installed capacity data should be included in the applicable transformation branch (e.g. Transformation\ Electricity Generation\Processes\Solar). You can easily use the many variables in the electricity generation module to govern the amount of solar capacity built in your area.

If you want to to add additional constraints to the transformation module, you can add a resource yield into the resource branch, which will represent the reasonable energy available from that resource in a given year. In the training exercises we suggest entering a very large yield which does not constrain the system but lets the amount of renewable capacity be built based on the transformation module (instead of any resource constraint).

    I hope that helps,

    Tory
