    Hello again,

I have another question concerning the transformation sector.
I have made an effort to include all the energy conversion sectors. One of them is heat generation. However, heat generation is a chaos in the greek energy system because there are many "technologies" used and very few data. Especially in the heating systems part, which mostly consists of central boilers whose main feedstock is oil and natural gas (the ratio is unknown), it is inevitable not to exclude something. Of course data like capacities etc. are even more hard to find (almost impossible).

Do you think I should not Heat generation in the Transformation sector?

    Thank you in advance.

    Sincerely,

    Argiro

    Hi Argiro,

Encountering data gaps is an issue that many modelers face, and there is no right or wrong answer. You will have to decide whether you want to model heat generation and use assumptions to fill in secondary data sources or to exclude heat generation and have a simpler model. This decision will likely depend on the purpose of the work and the audience who will receive it.

In either case, be sure to thoroughly document your decision to include or exclude the heat generation transformation module.

    Best,

    Tory
