Hi I'm doing LEAP exercise 1 and in section 1.4.3 when I view my results my graph is different. While my overall values are similar it apears that the old coal steam plant continues to provide the majority of the electricity generation for the system. The new coal plant doesn't appear to come online at all. I have entered the step-down for the old coal steam plant and I have input the new coal and oil plant into the endogenous tab. I have also input the rest of the exercie data. Can you suggest what I might have done wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Paul,

When troubleshooting electricity, it's best to first check your capacity, to see if that is coming online as you expect. If not, you should go back to your endogenous capacity and exogenous capacity variables. You can also check your first scenario year variable to ensure that you are telling LEAP to use your capacity data (all years before the first scenario year, LEAP will use your historical generation data from current accounts).

If capacity is correct but generation is not, the issue probably lies within your dispatch rules variable (i.e. how you are dispatching the capacity).

Remember that you can always check your answers with the completed datasets found on our training materials page. These can also be downloaded from within LEAP by going to Area: Install: Install from Internet.

    Best,
