    Dear Tory,
for availability value in LEAP, is it possible for you to tell me , what LEAP takes for:
    lignite,
    natural gas,
    fuel oil,
    diesel,
    hard coal,
    hydro,
    wind,
    geothermal,
biomass power plants working hours, it shld be less than 8760 hours and different for each fuel. This is not defined in any where in LEAP help files. And this is key point for me.

By the way, I recognise that my real values in my last file I sent you, electricity generation and LEAP calculations were different as I sent you both excel, real values file, and related LEAP file. Now I chose for "dispatch rules" "run to full capacity" ins. of process share. Then LEAP is taking "max availability" value that I entered and "transport outlut" values are same as real values, as I wanted.
But before as Iasked you LEAP used some value below than "max availability", which I cld't understand how, results were different and not matching with demand values, it stays below demand... And this not understandable for me...

Hope I can explain the problem.

    Rgds,

    Betl

    Hi Betl,

Assumptions about availability for electric generation technologies are not automatically built into LEAP, because users are expected to populate their datasets with their own assumptions. The Technology Database View (TED) does have technology-specific assumptions for many of the technologies that you are using. I recommend using TED to start your process of matching assumptions to your area.

For example, if you want to see various assumptions for Natural Gas combustion turbines, you can go to the TED view, and then go to Energy Conversion/Electricity Generation/Natural Gas/Combustion Turbines. Then you will see folders for different sources and types of assumptions. Clicking on an individual technology branch will give you all available assumptions. Availability assumptions can be found on the energy conversion tab. We recommend that you use this data as a starting point and that you revise them as needed to fit the data for your area.

Feel free to read more about the maximum availability variable in the help files: http://tinyurl.com/6krck3k

In terms of your specific data, please send me an email with your updated dataset and more specific information on your question and I will get back to you.

NB: For general data questions about LEAP, please continue to post to the forum. For questions that are specific to your dataset (and will not make sense to other users on the forum) please email me directly.

    Best,

    Tory
