    Hi there,

I'm teaching LEAP software, and as a practical exercise, we are modeling a region. This region includes several other smaller municipalities.

I was thinking to assign each municipality to a different students workgroup, work each municipality separately and in the end merge all municipalities in a single LEAP file. Is it possible?

I know about the multiregion option, but I don't think this can help me.

    Regards,

    Hi Lus,

This is possible using the "Tree: Insert Branches from Folder" option in Analysis view. A few things to keep in mind when doing this:

    1. Be sure that each municipality will have a separate demand folder like the structure below. This will make it easier to add those files.

    Demand
    -Municipality 1
    --Residential
    --Commercial
    -Municipality 2
    --Commercial
    --Agricultural
    .
    .
    .

    2. Avoid using Key Assumptions, because these branches are harder to merge.

    3. This feature is not as robust as some of the more established functions in LEAP, so be sure to save backups of your areas and data before merging areas in this way.

    4. Be sure that basic parameters are consistent across individual municipality areas.

To read more about this feature, see the user guide documentation below.
