Hi Brian,
FYI, BDE2NX is a separate program distributed with LEAP that does one time conversions of datasets from the old file format (that used the BDE - the Borland Database Engine) to the new file format (which by the way uses the Nexus Database Format (see http://www.nexusdb.com)
The early beta version of LEAP had problems with BDE2NX failing under a couple of conditions:
1. Your PC had insufficient access rights. BDE2NX needs to be run with admin rights. However, the non beta versions of LEAP2011 now do a pretty good job of running it correctly. Suggest you make sure you have the latest version (currently LEAP2011.013). I suspect you may have the older beta version. Please also check your PC is running with full admin rights. That may not be the case if you are running in a tightly controlled environment such as a University network. If problems continue please fill out a full error report here:

2. Another program is currently using the BDE. Older versions of LEAP and WEAP (and other tools) use the BDE. However, LEAP2011 should already check that they are not running.
If all else fails you can either try running LEAP on another PC or send me your older data set and I can convert it for you. Just takes a minute or two.
I hope this helps,
Best,
Charlie
