    Dear Charlie
I tried several times to bring in the Nepal data file saved in the older version into LEAP ver11. I zipped the data files in .rar.

    Hi Amrit,

LEAP currently does not open .rar files. I'm afraid you will need to save the files as .zip or .leap files.

As long as LEAP2008 is still installed on your computer, you can save the file to any location on your computer by going to Area: Manage Areas and selecting the backup option. This will allow you to save the file as a .leap file. Then you will be able to open it directly in LEAP2011.

    Best,

    Tory

    Hi Amrit,

Thank you for the additional information and for sending an error report. Your error report informs me that you currently have version 2011.0.0.12. Please first update to the latest (2011.0.0.15) by going to Help: Check for Updates.

If this does not fix the problem, please check your admin rights as it seems that you are running LEAP as a standard user, not an administrator (see below).

On all Windows machines, administrative rights can interfere with the proper installation and operation of LEAP.

To download LEAP properly you must be logged in as the administrator (not another user on the same computer) and then you must run LEAP at least once with these administrative rights so that registry keys can install properly.

Next you should set the properties of the LEAP program files folder (C:\Program Files\LEAP) and LEAP Settings folder to give full control to all users. For more information on where LEAP files are stored, please go to General: Basic Parameters and click on the folders tab.

If LEAP is still not running as an administrator, you can right click on the LEAP.exe file and click "Run as Administrator"

    Best,

    Tory

    Hi Tory
I did install LEAP version 2011.0.0.15 and right clicked on the LEAP.exe file and clicked "Run as Administrator". But still I had the same error as before while clicking on Results view.
    Regards

    Hi Amrit,

Can you confirm for me that you are the administrator on your computer? In Windows 7 this means going to Control Panel: User Accounts: Change Your Account Type and verifying that you are the administrator?

If so, please send me your dataset at leap@sei-us.org so that I can investigate further.

If not, please make your user account an administrator account and reinstall LEAP 2011. Then see if the error persists.

    Best,

    Tory

Thank you for emailing your data set, Amrit.

Firstly, "Power" is now a reserved word in LEAP2011, so none of your branches may contain this string. First you must change the names of two of your electricity generation processes to not include the word "Power."

Secondly, it seems that you found a small bug in LEAP.

The Access Violation error should now be fixed in the newest version of LEAP (2011.0.0.16). You can update by going to Help: Check for Updates within LEAP or by downloading from COMMEND here: www.tinyurl.com/LEAPDownload

    Thanks a lot, Tory.
It's working now and I have changed Hydropower plant to hydro plant since "power" is a reserved term. I need to update and upgrade my Nepal_Leap model.
    Thanks once again.
    With warm regards
    Amrit
