Electric System Load Factor Improvements: Various load-leveling measures in the DSM plan are expected to lead to gradual improvements in the system load factor, so that increases to about 64% in 2030. I cannot find where I can input the Electric System Load Factor value.

How can I add new Branch under freedonia not under other subcatalog. The add boton is not available when I tried to do so.

    Hi Serena,

As I mentioned in my previous post, we are in the process of updating the training materials for LEAP2011. LEAP2011 has new functionality related to system load curves that differs from LEAP2008. I recommend skipping that portion of the training materials for now and come back to it once the training materials have been updated (about one week).

    Hi Serena,

You cannot edit the highest branches in the LEAP structure. Those are reserved for the category branches: Key Assumptions, Demand, Statistical Differences, Transformation, Stock Changes, Resource, Non Energy Sector and Indicators. You can change which of these appear by going to the General: Basic Parameters: Scope screen.

When the add (+) button is not available it means that you are not able to edit the tree structure at that level. You might also notice this at some of the transformation and resource branches.

    Dear Tory,

When I do the exercises,I found I can't change the "2000 Availability(%)" value even if under the Current Accounts. The route is like this:Coal Mining->Processes->All Mines, Maximum Availability tag.

    Hi Serena,

The value that you see for "2000 Availability (%)" is actually an internal calculation in LEAP to tell you what the current accounts availability would be if calculated based on the exogenous capacity and historical production you have entered for the year 2000.

This value will not be used in the calculations for LEAP. You should enter in the value that you want LEAP to use for Maximum Availability, but check against the "2000 Availability" value for consistency.

Remember that you use the "First Simulation Year" variable in current accounts to specify when to switch between historical and simulation calculation approaches.
