I want to know how LEAP transfers the unit of electricity .In the Fuels Screen, the net energy content of electricity is 1GJ/GJ,and why it happens?

    Hi Pan,

This variable (energy content) will be used when LEAP needs to convert between physical units, such as tonnes of coal, and the equivalent energy requirements. Since electricity doesn't have an equivalent "physical" unit, it is only reported in energy units and therefore the energy content is irrelevant.

Remember that the emissions associated with electricity consumption will be calculated in the Transformation branches, where coal, natural gas, oil, etc. will be burned to generate electricity.

    Hi Tory,
    Thanks for your reply!
I have one more question.I want to calculate the total amount of energy consumption of the society, but if I add the consumption of the Demand branches and the Transformation branches,it would be double counting(especially electricity). Is there any method to solve this problem,an is there any method to calculate the total consumption of the society? Thanks!

    Best,
