Hi! No matter what I do, LEAP continues in sending tihis message

    NexusDB: : Query execution failed:
    Table already exists.

whenever I change tabs in LEAP this appears, even if I don't try to change anything, just the simple fact of cliking on a different tab than the one I'm in, and it is conflicting with some features like constructing a yearly shape curve. (the time slices do not appear when I select Peak Load Shape (% of peak load)

    Can you help me?

    Hi Joana,

I will need a little more information so that I can best help you. Please send me the following:

    1. The version of LEAP you are using (check the bottom toolbar or click on Help: About LEAP). It is most useful if you can just copy the information in the "About LEAP" screen into your reply to this message.
    2. What version of Windows you are using (XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac/Wine).
    3. What were you doing before you got this message? Did you make any big changes to data recently? Did you just finish calculating results?
    4. What happens when you close LEAP and re-open it? Does the problem persist?

    Best,

    Tory

    Hi Joana,

Thank you for this information, it helps me understand the situation. My biggest question is whether you and your team at IST would consider updating to LEAP 2012. We have put out 37 new versions of the software since LEAP 2011.0.0.43, and we would very much recommend that you update. Each version is improved with new features and bug fixes

You can see more of the new features on our What's New Page: http://www.energycommunity.org/default.asp?action=182

Is there a reason your team has not yet upgraded? (It is free by the way!)

The other thing that I notice is that you are running LEAP as a standard user, which can sometimes cause problems in the operation of LEAP. Do you have administrative rights to your PC? If so, I can help you iron that out.

    Hi Tory!

I haven't updated yet because I am afraid that all the work I have done until now won't be compatible with the new versions and that some features of the new version are different from the version I have now.

I have administrative rights to my PC, how can I change the user mode?

If you recomend, I will gladly update LEAP to the newest version.

    Hi Joana,

If you want to be safe you can certainly save a backup copy of your "LEAP 2011 Areas" folder on your computer (just rename it "LEAP 2011 Areas Old", for example). Then when you reinstall LEAP you could always go back to the original version of the files.

LEAP 2012 is compatible with all files created in LEAP 2011. A few things have changed, such as the optimization calculations and reserved names, but nothing huge that should affect your results. I would highly recommend that you upgrade to LEAP 2012 as it is much more robust. If you do find a difference in results, please let us know and we'll look into it.

In terms of administrative rights, be sure to install LEAP 2012 with Windows User Account Control turned off (this can affect installation) and then the first time you run it, right click the icon on your PC and choose "Run as Administrator." This should do it.

I should also mention that you can run LEAP 2011 and 2012 on the same computer, so there is no need to uninstall LEAP 2011 until you are sure you don't want to use it anymore.

    Best,

    Tory
