    Hi,

I want to connect LEAP to a GIS Shape File.
I have installed LEAP’s optional mapping components (see below):
    System Information
    LEAP
    Registered to tiberiu.stefan@gmail.com until January 23, 2015

    Dictionary Version: 337
    Program Folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\LEAP2012\
    Areas Folder: C:\Users\tiberiu.stefan\Documents\LEAP2011 Areas\
    Settings Folder: C:\...\Documents\LEAP2011 Areas\_LEAP Settings\
    Work Folder: C:\...\Documents\LEAP2011 Areas\_Work\
    First Instance: Yes
    First Instance: Yes
    Mapping Components: Installed

I am working on a multi-region area (in General/Regions I added 2 new regions in my work area).
When I try to connect LEAP to a GIS shape file, this error message appear:

    "Error #5 (File access denied)
    Failure to open C:\Program Files(x86)\LEAP2012\LEAP\MAPS\Countries\country.dbf (USE/OpenDbf"

    What is wrong?

    Thank You in advance!

    Best regards,

    Tiberiu

    Hi Tiberiu and Maria,

Sorry for the long wait on this. File access is denied because the shape file that you are trying to load is in a directory on your computer that requires Administrator permissions to access.

You can get around the issue either by running LEAP as an administrator (right click on the *.exe file and select 'Run as Administrator'), though this is not the recommended course of action, or better, make a copy of the mapping files in your Documents folder. Then point LEAP to the shape file in this folder.

    Hope this helps,

    Taylor
