    Hello

Whilst viewing the energy balance for the electricity generation module- the energy consumption used is far too high and I'm not sure why.

I have inputted the efficiencies of the input fuels as well as the exogenous capacities (to the transmission// electricity generation) and the relevant reserves are in the Resources module.

Does anybody have an idea why this might be happening?

    many thanks

My suggestion would be to try and be very systematic in checking the various elements of the problem.

    1. Start by looking at the total final demand for electricity in Result View What you entered in your demand analysis. Do those values look right? Sometimes just getting a single scaling factor or unit wrong can make a huge difference to overall results. If the values for demands look strange then try to check the values by going through sector by sector looking for problems.

    2. Next check if your Transmission and distribution data looks strange. Use the Results View to check whether the inputs and outputs to your T&D module are Ok.

    3. Only when the above are OK, should you turn to the Electric Generation Module. Check to see if the module has built the expected amount of capacity. If capacity look OK check to see how the module is being dispatched. Which processes in the module are being used. Pay careful attention again to the units used to specify capacity data and historical production data. Check also that the load shape is correctly defined. You may also want to check the planning reserve margin.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
