I followed all the instructions provided in the training manual. But I have got some problems with this section of the training guide. First of all, is the historical data the same as the base year data provided in the table on page 23 (which gives the information about power plants in Freedonia)? If yes, it means the information should be entered under current account in the historical production tab? Haven followed all the steps and entered the information provided about the reference scenario, I could not get a plot that gives the share of all the power plant like the one on page 26. My own plot only has a legend titled electricity and colored in red and does not start from 2010 (it starts from 2011). Please help me out. I am beginning to enjoy this!!!!

    Hi Sadiq,

If you enter only a single year of Historical Production data that corresponds to the Base Year of your scenario, then yes, Historical Production is the same as Base Year production. The difference is that Historical Production allows the capability to provide more than one year of data.

Don’t be confused by Historical Production vs. the data provided by the table on p. 23 of the LEAP Training Exercises, which supplies Exogenous Capacity of the existing power plants for the base year, rather than the amount of power that they generated.

With this in mind, make sure that the Historical Production fields are properly filled for Current Accounts, using the data provided in the body of the text on p. 24, under the Transformation:Electricity Generation:Processes:Historical Production tab. Also ensure that your First Simulation year is set to 2011. This should address the graphing issue that you mentioned.

Glad to hear you’re enjoying yourself!

    Hi,

I think that Exercise One is a good place to start, but you'll find it very useful to work through the whole set of training exercises.

    Good luck,

    Taylor
