Do I need to do all the Demand process as the its presented in the training mannual, or its possible for one to start a specific task (say T&D) without doing the upper branch (Say Demand:household, Industry, transport and commercial)?
In other words can one just start a simulation of a country's energy T&D system without doing the Demand branch?

    Hi Sadiq,

It isn't necessary to include all of the demand branches outlined in the training manual (although if you're following the manual closely, then you'll want to include them for future modules), but I'm not sure what you'd be simulating if you don't add any electrical demand to your model. Without any demand, LEAP would simply not dispatch any of the power plants you've built in the Transformation branches.

Maybe you could trying introducing a simple module, Demand:Technology with Total Energy, to give your power plants a reason to run.

    Best of luck,

    Hi Taylor,
I do not have the detailed household energy demand data for my work, so it is OK if one just add the Technology Branch under demand and write the Total (estimate) electricity demand of the city/country? Can this make the plants to run in a case where one is looking at the Government plan to expand its energy mix?

That should work fine for your purposes, Sadiq. As long as there is some kind of demand, LEAP will dispatch your plants to meet that demand.

    Best,
