For some reason I am not able to check the checkbox in the Basic Parameters > Scope on cost. How come? I need to specify demand costs, so cannot fulfil my model before this is added. There is nothing to be found in the manual on this issue, what I can find.

    Hi Gregers,

Which version of LEAP are you running? I'm not certain that this would make a difference, but we can only really support the most current version (2012.0049).

Assuming that you're using this version, this sounds like an issue that will be difficult to resolve on the forums. Could you please send me your LEAP data set, to leap@sei-us.org? From LEAP's main menu, click Email, then Past Versions - None, and include a descriptive message in the email body.

    Best,

    Taylor

I get an error code (10054) when I try to send your mails from LEAP. I have send the file manually.

Set results to calculate every (one) year via "Results Every" setting in the General: Basic Parameters: Years screen. Otherwise the Costs checkbox is disabled on the Basic Parameters: Scope tab.

Note: The message attached to the Costs checkbox should remind you of this. It should read:
Costs: to enable set results to calculate every year.

Error code 10054 is a Windows error "Connection reset by peer" not a LEAP error, indicating that LEAP was unable to access the Internet. Most likely this indicates that you are using LEAP on a PC behind a firewall that is stopping LEAP from working. Contact your system administrator (if there is one) for assistance with this.

    Best,

    Charlie

P.S. I notice we have answered quite a few questions for you in recent weeks, here and via email, but we rarely if ever receive any acknowledgment from you noting whether these answers have helped you or not. Can you please do so? It helps us to support you better and it also helps other members of this community to see if a problem they may be having has been fully addressed here or not.

    Thanks for your consideration.

Right, you are right. I will update my forum questions to also have confirmations on questions. Sorry for not doing it earlier, slip of mind.

First: Setting the model to calculate every year solved the issue concerning cost, seemingly (I haven't done anything with it yet, but the button is now clickable in Basic Parameters)

Second: I am sitting behind "The Great Firewall", which might disturb communications. However, to my knowledge, the Chinese regulators manually closes off for everyport deemed needed. It seems unlikely that they should close off to your servers, especially since there is no problems with access to this webpage.

Basically, it might be a problem for all mainland China users, maybe not.

    Thank you for the help,

    Gregers
