i have been working with the transportation model with the following structure

    1.PASSENGER
    >intracity
    >intercity

    2.FREIGHT
    >capital city
    >rest of the nation

when i click in the intracity branch in ANALYSIS VIEW, the chart (or table) shows correct results with billion passenger km as the unit. for eg:(15.4 billion P-KM)
but when i run the calculation and try to view the activity level of the same branch but from RESULT VIEW, the chart shows same number but reduced unit. (15.4 P-KM instead of 15.4 billion P-KM)

i get the same kind of problem with the freight branch. I have checked the formula and also run the calculation in excel with same data but its alright in there..

    please help !!!

    Hello Suman,

I'm not sure I follow you - the Activity Level itself is not a Results variable. Are you looking at Demand: Energy Demand Final Units, somehow?

Can you clarify for me which results you're looking at in Results view?

    Thank you,

    Taylor

    hi taylor,
okay.. i got the point.. i should be looking at total activity instead of activity level in result view.. but can you clarify what's the difference between them?

Okay, I think I understand you're trouble. I apologize if my comment about the 'Activty Level' not being a Results variable is misleading - it may not be a calculated result, but you can still view it for a demand branch in Results view by selecting Data variables: Activity Level. Note that you'll just be viewing the same data that you entered in the Analysis view, though.

Total Activity for a branch is calculated by multiplying through each of the activity levels at demand branches above that branch in the tree. This help file describes the difference well:

    http://www.energycommunity.org/WebHelpPro/Demand/Total_Activity.htm

So, an Activity Level of 20% saturation for refrigerators translates into a Total Activity of 800,000 refrigerators.

    Hope that's clear,

    Taylor
