    Hello
I want to know if the last version of LEAP has been updated with the last version of IPCC 2006 guidelines.

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Jesus,

To which guidelines, in particular, are you referring?

LEAP allows you to select global warming potentials from any one of the first four IPCC Assessment Reports. IPCC AR4 was published in 2007, so perhaps there are the values for which you're looking. Note, though, that by default, global warming potentials from AR2 (in 1996) are used, which is something of an industry standard. To change these, click on the 'Effects' button in LEAP's main toolbar, and then select 'Apply IPCC GWP Values'. This will give you the option to specify which global warming potentials to use in your area. We haven't yet had the chance to build in GWPs from the IPCC AR5, though, but you might want to investigate these on your own. For example, the integrated warming potentials for methane have been changed fairly substantially in the latest report.

If you're wondering about the IPCC Tier 1, technology-specific emissions factors that LEAP uses (those contained in LEAP's Technology and Environmental Database, introduced here: http://www.energycommunity.org/WebHelpPro/TED/TED_Intro.htm) then those values have not generally been updated since the Second Assessment Report. But I'd like to emphasize that you are free to add values that you feel are appropriate, instead of using those that are built into LEAP by default!

If I haven't covered the IPCC guidelines that you're interested in, please let me know.
