    Hi !

I have question in regard with scenarios

    • How both demand scenarios and supply scenarios are combined together in LEAP ? I mean how LEAP take into account
both scenarios specific data and combined them together to give the final results ? For example, I have electrification scenario in transport, where all tranport modes would be powered by electricity in 2020. Does LEAP consider into account the electricity capacity in transformation when give the results ?

    Many thanks

    Hello Sultan,

LEAP does not distinguish internally between supply-side and demand-side scenarios, meaning that data you enter for a single scenario can cut across both supply and demand measures. I think the key to answering your question is a better understanding of Scenario Inheritance, which you can read about here:

    http://www.energycommunity.org/WebHelpPro/Concepts/Understanding_Expression_Inheritance.htm

In the example that you gave, if you have additional electricity demand from the transport sector, then this will result in LEAP building and dispatching more electricity capacity in its transformation modules. Under this scenario, you don't need to explicitly enter any new expressions on the supply-side, because the additional electricity demand is all you need to change the behavior of the electricity generation module.

    Hope this helps,
