Hello,

I went about starting a new LEAP areas this morning, but LEAP wanted to update to version 2014.01.17, so I let it update.

When I started a new area and hit 'ok' for the basic parameters page I got an error message. It shut down LEAP and I started again, I got past the basic parameters sheet (by hitting cancel instead of ok to submit the error report), then went about adding key assumptions then when I hit ok to submit a new key assumption I got this error:

Error: Access violation at address 0051FDC4 in module 'Leap.exe'. Read of address 00000004
Type: EAccessViolation
File: UNKNOWN
Module: ComCtrls
Line: UNKNOWN
Process: TTreeNode::GetTreeView

Whats odd, is if hit cancel instead of Ok, and go on adding branches under the demand level it's ok, and those key assumptions appear in the Key assumptions branch suddenly.

Hi Bryce,

Very sorry to hear you're having trouble - the error that you point out regarding Key Assumptions is known to us, and we expect to release a new version of LEAP within the next few days which resolves this problem.

However, I cannot reproduce the Basic Parameters error that you see. Can you please confirm the following steps, which generate the error on your PC?

1. Create a new LEAP area by clicking Area: New. Assign a name to the area. Click okay.

2. Once the new area is created, when automatically prompted to visit the Basic Parameters screen, click Yes.

3. Which error do you see at this stage?

After clicking yes to go to the Basic parameters sheet, there is no error. It takes me to the basic parameters sheet.
I add in the results years (2030) and hit ok.

The I go to 'Key assumptions' branch and hit 'add' and when I try to add population for instance and hit ok it gives me the error:

Hi Bryce,

Yes, I understand now. Again, this issue will be resolved quickly, in the next version of LEAP. We expect to be able to release it within the next few days - please check regularly using Help: Check for Updates from LEAP's main menu.
