    Hi,

I am working on the LEAP Training Exercise 2014.
For this section, I have produced for 4 times. I was sure that I followed every step from the tutorial, but the result did not seem right.

First, there is not option as "Show:Transformation:Outputs"
I could not even find any result related to "Electricity Generation", there are only "Output by Output fuel" or "Output by Feedstock fuel" I tried to plot with both ways,
    none of them worked.
Second, the result only shows the year or 2010, for other years, the number is 0 for all the processes. Can you let me know what the possible mistakes are?

P.S I downloaded the most current LEAP version

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Joyce,

You're right - in recent versions of LEAP, you must select either Transformation: Outputs by Output Fuel, or Transformation: Outputs by Feedstock Fuel. Sorry for the confusion, we'll make these changes in the help materials.

The results shown in LEAP depend on both the result chosen from the 'Show:' menu, as well as the branch in your tree that is selected with your mouse. So you will not find a specific result view for 'Electricity Generation', but rather you will display Transformation: Outputs by Output Fuel, with the Electricity Generation\Processes branch selected. If you display your results using All Branches, you should then see transformation outputs for each of your electricity generation processes.

There are a few reasons that you may not be seeing any electricity dispatch during your scenario years. Have a look at Transformation: Requirements for your electricity generation module. If there are no requirements, this suggests that you need to check that there is an electricity demand during your scenario years. If there are requirements, then look at the Dispatch Rule variable, assigned to each process. Also ensure that you have defined sufficient available capacity, by checking the Maximum Availability and Exogenous Capacity variables for your plants.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

    Hi Tyler,

Thank you for your explanation and sorry I am still confused for some parts. I just started self-learning it.

Where do you mean [Transformation: Requirements for your electricity generation module.]?
I went to result and choose Transformation, but there is no option for the electricity generation module.

However, I noticed one thing that I hope it can help me to solve my problems.
When I go to Results-> Transformation->Outputs by Feedback Fuel, only 2010 (witch is the base year) takes the historical production into account. I understand this should happen for the New Coal Steam and the New Oil Combustion Turbines. However, Existing Oil Combustion Turbine, the New Coal Steam and the New Oil Combustion Turbines have zero outputs by Feedback Fuel for the years after 2010.

I am not sure if this is clear enough to let you understand my problems more, but really thank you for your help!

    Hi Joyce,

Again, there is no specific result for "transformation requirements for electricity generation". Instead, you would select Transformation: Requirements, and then select your Electricity Generation module with your mouse, in the tree on the left side of the screen.

Did my other suggestions help you to narrow down the problem (i.e ensuring there is available capacity, and that your dispatch rule is correctly set)?

    Best,

    Taylor
