    Mathura,

Do you know the historical energy consumption in the road transport sector? Otherwise you cannot estimate energy demand without knowing the number of vehicles which are consuming fuel.

Please be more specific about the type of analysis you wish to conduct, and the problem you're encountering. Note that our forum posting guidelines can be found here:

    Hi Taylor

I knew the average fuel consumption , annual distance travel of the vehicles from 2009-2014 historical data and i wanted to calculate energy demand for these vehicles and an way to extrapolate the amount of vehicles on the road by 2030 and the energy demand with respect to 5 yrs data. Is it possible.

    regards

    Mathura,

If you do not know the number of vehicles currently (or historically, with known sales of new vehicles), then you can not know the stock of vehicles in each year out to 2030. This is not a limitation of LEAP - adding a known quantity of sales to an unknown quantity of vehicles still results in an unknown quantity. But perhaps I am not understanding your question clearly.

Have you carefully worked through the pieces of LEAP's online training materials which pertain to transport? Please make sure you're familiar with (specifically) Exercises 2.2 and 5 of this document:
