We are pleased to announce that the new LEAP web site is now available. We recently reached the milestone of 30,000 members, and we hope the new design will allow us to further broaden LEAP's impact for sustainable energy and climate planning. The site is a major redesign, with the following new features:

    • Responsive: a modern, responsive design that works on phones, tablets and computers.
    • Secure: secure HTTPS protocols throughout to help protect information.
    • Engaging: To try and get members more involved in helping each other, you can now earn points by asking questions, answering other users' questions, completing your profile, uploading your photo, downloading LEAP, etc. The more points you earn the higher your ranking will be in the member listings page. One page even shows global and national leader boards so you can see how you compare with other users. After you ask a question you can also mark the best answer, to help others more quickly identify solutions to their problem.
    • Renamed: We are renaming the site from "COMMEND" to simply "LEAP". The new name is intended to be clearer for LEAP users.
    • Better Support: Discussions now support rich text, so you can include links, formatting and images in your messages and LEAP and other files as attachments. You can also now see which messages are most "liked" by users or mark a message as the best answer to a question you posted.
    • Training Videos: The site now includes training videos. More coming soon!
    • Easier to Use: Numerous ease-of-use improvements including real-time form validation, and instant searching of discussions and member lists make the site much easier to use than before.
    • Better Communication: A new blogging feature will make it easier for us to share LEAP news with you.
    • Updated and Expanded Resources: The site's library of LEAP applications, workshops, courses and modeling tools has been revised, updated and expanded, and can now be quickly searched.
    • Starter Data Sets: We have recently renewed our data sharing agreement with the IEA, which will allow us to update our LEAP national "starter" data sets. These will be available on the new web site later this year.
Please take our short (5 min) survey after testing the new site.

Thanks for helping to improve the LEAP web site!
