Topic: limited access to results variables when creating indicators Subscribe | Previous | Next

    Hi,

I'm trying to use indicator to do some additional calculations such as energy intensity per GDP for China. However, there is no "Primary requirements: allocated to demands" in the results variables list to which I can select from to complete my calculation(only have "energy demand final units"). Also I found that the results variables accessible are very limited when applying indicators.

I just want to make sure if it is the fact that the available results variables for indicators are very limited in LEAP for now? My version of LEAP is 2015.0.14.0.

In addition, I'd like to know if there is any other way that could help me calculate the energy intensity automatically in LEAP?

    Many thanks.

    Best,

    Hi Liu,

Sorry for the trouble here - you are correct, right now there is no way to create a reference to this result variable. We'll look into adding it in an upcoming version of LEAP.

In the meantime, using the Results view you could generate the indicator you describe, by selecting the result Demand:Primary Requirements: Allocated to Demands, and on the y-axis, select "Denominator" and navigate to the appropriate GDP assumption in your model. You can then save the chart as a favorite to quickly return to it, if you wish.

Thank you very much Taylor. This is very useful suggestion! Looking forward to the upcoming version allowing for accessibility to more result variables!
