    Hi Wicaksono,

Welcome to the LEAP community and thank you for your question!

The exact problem resulting in the error message is unclear, however often this error occurs due to missing or incorrectly inputted data. Before we investigate the error in further detail, I encourage you to go back through Exercise 1.4 to check that all inputs have been entered as required.

Also note that it is possible to compare your model side-by-side with the completed Freedonia data set to ensure everything has been entered correctly. To do this, open another copy of LEAP and go to Area > Open > Freedonia. After the file opens, click Area > Revert to Version, and select the partially-completed version (e.g. 1.4.3. Transformation Electricity Generation) for comparison to your own model.

If the error continues to persist, please feel free to send us a copy of your LEAP file so that we can analyze problem. To do so, go to "Area: Backup" to backup the LEAP file to your computer. Then either reply to this message and attach the file or send it via email to leap@sei-us.org.

    Good luck!

    Emily

Thank you Ms Emily for answering my question

I have rechecked and redone my exercise from 1.4, I followed exactly the same with training material, and yet, these problems still happen.

While being done with my exercises, I always compared with Freedonia that have been included in LEAP Software, and all of the indicator have been checked and same.
All exercises before section 1.4 have been done smoothly

I also have reverted official Freedonia version to latter version, compared it again my exercise, and yet the problems still occur.
The problem occurs when I clicked RESULTS button under VIEWS BAR to begin the calculation process.

I have attached the .LEAP program in this attachment and have sent in that email address.
But, there is NEW problem occurs when I attach .leap file, the website is rejected and I have attached the screenshot. Maybe there is problem with the website

Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciated it.

    Regards,
    Wicaksono

    Hi Ms. Emily

I've started again from beginning and try to compare side-by-side with the reverted version original Freedonia and gladly, I succeeded.

I do not know where is my problem but fortunately, if I inputed as long as official Freedonia, i succeed, but when I follow up the original exercise material, unfortunately, I could not succeed.

Thank you for replying my comment.

    Hi Wicaksono,

Thank you for letting us know about the issue with attaching .LEAP files to forum posts. We hope to resolve this problem shortly.

We reviewed the file you sent us by email and found the software bug causing the error message. This bug has been fixed for the next version of LEAP which will be released in the near future.

We have also fixed your LEAP file which should now work without error (the updated LEAP file has been sent to your email). Should you experience any other problems, please let us know.

    Thanks!
    Emily

    Hi Ms. Emily Ghosh

Thank you so much for replying my email and my discussion text. And huge thanks for fixing my .leap file.

I have redone my exercise from the beginning and somehow I did not encounter like my prior .leap file. I do not know why this is happened.

And i have opened .leap file whom you have sent and it works flawlessly.

If I may ask, how do you fix my .leap file? If you will tell me how to do it, I can fix it by myself in case in the future I encounter the same problem.

I glad to hear that my file could help SEI for fixing the bugs and improving LEAP software.
I can't wait for the future update.

    Thank you

    Tri Ilham Wicaksono

    Hi Wicaksono,

Not a problem, and thank you again for informing us of the issue.

While we are unsure of the steps you had taken that initially led to the error message, we found that the error occurred because LEAP was trying to calculate emissions even though the option to analyze environmental loadings was disabled in Basic Params. As mentioned in the post above, this bug has now been fixed for an upcoming version of LEAP.

The workaround used to fix your LEAP file was to open Basic Params, enable Energy Sector Effect Loadings, click Close and open Results View. This "resets" the LEAP Area and now shows results without error. Then, go back to Basic Params and disable Energy Sector Effect Loadings, and the results should continue to calculate properly.

If you have any other questions, just let us know.

    Thanks!
    Emily

    Hi Ms. Emily Ghosh

Thank you for replying my comment

It turns out that fixing my .leap file quite simple. I do not know that is the solution because in the exercise material, there are no instruction to enable Energy Sector Effect Loadings in section 1.3.4

I will keep your advice just in case it happens again.
I will also wait for next LEAP update.
Thank you so much for your fast response.

    Best Regards,
