Topic: Fuel property error for electricity in 2017 version of LEAPSubscribe | Previous | Next
  • Utsavshree Rajbhandari 12/15/2016

    Hello,

Our team (Dr. Amrit Nakarmi, Anita Prajapati, Utsav Rajbhandari) have developed the emission model for energy and non-energy sectors of Nepal using LEAP-IBC SNAP toolkit for analysis of short lived climate pollutants. We are now working on analysis of mitigation options.
But with update of LEAP to 2017 versions, problem arose in Result and Energy Balance view for Electricity, which is shown as Non-energy in almost all categories within Demand module. The same model running in older versions shows correct results with correct designation for Electricity, but same model if run in new versions the electricity changes to Non-energy in fuel category. The fuel assignments in Analysis are also same in both models.
We checked the properties of electricity in Fuel manager, which was correct, and even tried to re-assign the correct values, but no luck.

Attached herewith is the screenshots from the both models in the following link. [Click here: LEAP Screenshots.pdf]

We would be thankful if you could help us sort out this error,

    Regards,
    Utsav

    Hi Utsav,

If you don't mind, can you please send a copy of your file for us to review the problem? To do this, please create a backup LEAP file by going into "Area: Backup". Then either reply to this message and attach the file or email it to leap@sei-us.org.

    Thanks,
    Emily

    Hi Utsav,

Thank you for emailing the file. We were able to pinpoint the problem that was causing electricity demands to be represented by a non-energy fuel in the results and energy balance. We hope to have the problem resolved in the next version of LEAP which will be released later this week.

    Thanks!
    Emily
