I am using a very detailed LEAP area, and while using the analysis-view LEAP sometimes gets really slow. I'm looking into getting a new computer soon, and as I will be using my new computer for running LEAP among other programs, I wonder if there are any recomendations for computer specifications that will make LEAP run more smoothly? Any experiences?

    Hi Synne,

Minimum hardware requirements for LEAP are listed here: https://www.energycommunity.org/Help/TechSupport/Hardware_Requirements.htm. Based on personal experience, if you plan to use Windows 10, you will likely need at least 4GB to 6GB of RAM for using LEAP alongside everyday programs (and perhaps more if you tend to run many large programs simultaneously). More details on minimum Windows 10 system requirements are provided here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-specifications.

We also highly recommend that the latest version of LEAP is always used (available here) as it is continually updated to improve data processing time. However, there is also the chance that LEAP will run slow even on a newer computer model, depending on how you have set up the LEAP model itself (i.e. if there are several links to Excel, etc). If you would like us to review your LEAP model and provide suggestions on how it can be improved to run faster, go to "Area: Backup" to backup your LEAP file, then reply to this message with the file attached, or email it to leap@sei-us.org.

    Hope this helps!
