    Hello,
I'm new to LEAP and I'm having some trouble in importing data from Excel, can somebody explain to me how it works or tell me where can I find information about that?
    Thank you
    Anna

    Hi Anna,

To do this, first export the branches from Excel, input the data into the "Expressions" or "Values" column, and then import the data back into LEAP. For guidance on how to export and import data, refer to the following pages of LEAP's user guide:

    Thanks!

Thank you very much for your help,
I almost succed in importing the data but time series
    functions are read as "Interp( 2000, 10, 2001, 20, 2002, 30, etc)",
giving me a syntax error as Interp functions seem to need a " ; "
instead of the " , ". (Note: If I copy a row in Excel, and paste it into
the respective field in LEAP, it is pasted in the correct format, so
the problem is related to the importing of data.)
    Do you have any suggestion?
    Thank you
    Anna

    Hi Anna -

Can you provide your Windows number formatting settings? Specifically, what is the decimal symbol, digit grouping symbol and list separator that you're using?

This can be accessed under Windows Regional & Language settings.

Hi Anna, thanks for the added info.

I can reproduce this problem on my computer - apologies for the inconvenience here. There is a software issue with the current version of LEAP which prohibits importing of data from Excel (using Analysis: Import from Excel, but not while copying and pasting, as you have noted) when the list separator is a semi-colon (;).

For now, I would suggest that you copy and paste each row individually, or if there are too many and you must use Analysis: Import from Excel, then you may temporarily switch your language settings to the following (quotations excluded):

    Decimal symbol "."
    Digit grouping symbol ","
    List separator symbol ","

Please let me know if this works, and sorry for the trouble. I'll update this thread when the problem is fixed in a future version of LEAP.

Hi Anna - this should be resolved in version 2018.0.1.2 of LEAP, which you can download here.
