LEAP will be making a brief but action-packed appearance at COP23 in Bonn on Nov 13th and 14th.
Charlie Heaps, the developer of LEAP, will be part of a side event on the topic of "How Modelling Can Support Carbon Pricing Policy Formulation?" at the Turkey Pavilion on November 13th from 11:00-13:00. I hope you can join it. I'm hoping to demonstrate how LEAP can be used for a multinomial logit model of vehicle choice driven by carbon prices.
He will also be giving a series of demonstrations of a major new version of LEAP (LEAP2018) to be released in early December 2017 and the new Integrated Benefits Calculator (IBC). IBC takes emissions scenarios from LEAP, feeds them into a global atmospheric geochemistry model and various exposure-response functions, to produce national-scale estimates of avoided mortality and crop losses based on a party's mitigation policies. These demos will be held at the Climate & Clean Air Coalition booth. CCAC is a sponsor of IBC. The first demo will be on the 13th from 13:00-14:00 and the second on the 14th from 11:00-12:00. (All times local in Bonn)
Charlie will also be visiting The Stockholm Environment Institute booth, so please come by and say hello - and feel free to bring along your LEAP analyses to show!
