    Hi!

How does leap handle emission factors when having a transport technology with two fuels?

    Best regards,
    Jimmy

    Hi Jimmy,

If a transport technology uses two fuels, be sure to have a separate branch for each fuel as shown in the attached screenshot. Then add emission factors for the second fuel. Be sure to set the fuel share (device share), fuel economy, and mileage for the new fuel branch (typically the mileage should be the same value for both fuels). LEAP will then calculate the annual energy demands for each fuel and will calculate the emissions for each fuel individually. You can sum these up to get the total emissions generated for the vehicle type.

    Hope this helps!

I see, thanks for the reply. But in my case it doesn't seem that it works as intended. If I set the device share for fuel A to 100% and to 0% for fuel B, and the PM10-emission factors to 0 kg/veh-km for A and 1 kg/veh-km for B, I still see emissions in the result. It seems that LEAP adds the emission despite device share. I hope I made the example clear.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jimmy
