    Hi,

I am trying to understand, why did Leap
import some electricity? What could be the reasons? Is because renewable energy
has 40% of the electric generation and the availability of them is lower than
    fossil?

Reserve margin is higher than 20 % in every
scenario. Import target is 0 too.

    Thanks a lot

    Santiago

    Hi Santiago,

Imports typically occur if there are import targets or insufficient capacity. However, as you've noted, these do not appear to be an issue for your particular case.

Another reason could be related to the capacity credit. Is the capacity credit greater than the maximum availability for any of the processes that are being endogenously added? This may be the reason for imports (refer to the following thread for further details on this issue, in particular, my post from 4/20/2018: https://www.energycommunity.org/default.asp?action=9&tid=3872&fid=22).

If changing the capacity credit to be equal or less than the maximum availability does not fix the imports, please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Emily
