Topic: How to add generation process for different locations?Subscribe | Previous | Next

    Hello
I am studying an island country which has many small islands. Grid electricity is provided to 4 of the islands while other islands have off grid electricity. The islands which are grid connected, are not inter-connected. Meaning, each island has its own generators to supply its load. For example; Island 1 has annual load data with its generation technologies given and island 2 has its annual load and generation technologies given while similar data is available for islands 3 and 4. How do I model this on LEAP?

    Appreciate your assistance.

    Regards
    Ravita

    Hi Ravita,

You may want to model each island as its own Region in LEAP. If you have a multi-region model, you can model each island separately, each with their own demands and transformation processes. You can then view the aggregated results for the country in the Results View.

To add a new region, go to General --> Regions, use the green plus (+) to add a new region, select which region to inherit default expressions from, and select whether the Region should be calculated.

For more information about regions, refer to the following help page: https://www.energycommunity.org/Help/Supporting_Screens/Regions.htm

    Hope this helps!
