Topic: Many Candidates in Minimum Addition Size for Mixed Integer Linear Programming MILPSubscribe | Previous | Next

    Greetings,

From https://www.energycommunity.org/Help/Transformation/Minimum_Addition_Size.htm?rhhlterm=mixed%20integer&rhsyns=%20 I realized that after I activated check box on General:Basic Parameter -> Optimization Tab -> Addition Size using Mixed Integer Linear Programming, I can use LEAP and OSeMOSYS to determine optimized generation addition using certain number, not in continuous variable like usual optimization (eventhough I have to face slower computation, I accept it.)

The question: How do I properly input the power plant capacity candidates if there are more than 1 candidate values?
For example, for coal power plant, I have 300MW and 600MW candidates.
For machine gas power plant I have 100MW and 800MW candidates.
For hydro power plant, I have 250MW and 500MW candidates.

Thank you for anyone who will answer my question. I really appreaciate it.

    Hi Wicaksono,

You can add the candidate capacities together if they are going to be commissioned in the same year. If they are supposed to be commissioned in different years, you can enter a time-series function like Data(2017, 300, 2019, 0, 2018, 600)

    Thanks,
    Emily
