    Hello,

I am modelling a European energy balance and have created a 'Heat Generation' branch in my transformation module along with the 'Electricity generation' branch. The heat generation uses primary fuels like coal, oil and gas but also electricity (used in electric boilers and heat pumps). For now I have populated it with dummy data to test the logic.I get no errors, however all the electricity needed for the heat seems to be coming from electricity imports and not covered by the electricity generation module.

I am really interested in seeing the dynamics of the heat and power sector coupling. Is there a better way of doing this?

Thoughts and comments much appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Shweta -

It looks like your Heat Production module is below your Electricity Production module in the tree. Note that the ordering of transformation modules matters, with each module operating in response to the requirements from final demands as well as the modules above it. So, if you want your Heat Production module to consume electricity produced through other means (instead of importing it), you should use the blue arrows above the tree to move it above your electricity module.

    Hope this helps,
    Taylor

Hey thanks so much, it worked indeed. Such a simple solution
