    Dear team,
    I want to know that how can we use economic indicators like GDP and population to predict the demand of electricity ?

    Hi Hafsa,

    Generally, you would enter socioeconomic data (i.e. GDP, population) into the Activity Level of a category branch (a demand branch with a yellow or green folder) in order to use these indicators to forecast energy demands. You can also create Key Assumptions for these indicators and reference them in the Activity Level variable, as described in training exercise 1 and 2 of the training manual.

    To give you more background, by default, LEAP uses the Activity Analysis method for calculating energy demands. In this method, energy consumption is calculated in the following manner:

    energy consumption = activity level x energy intensity

    For example, to determine the energy consumption of all households, the activity level would be the number of households, and the energy intensity would be the energy per household. For more information on the Activity Analysis method, I recommend reading the following help pages:
