    Dear Sir,

I have two questions regarding this.

    1. Coal mining, although it is an energy transformation process, it requires energy input too, mainly in the form of electricity and diesel. However, I am unable to input these two into my coal mining transformation branch as auxiliary fuels, since the coal mining branch is at lower position than the power generation, and the diesel is actually imported. Error message will be shown.

    2. I am not sure why in the energy balance, the coal anthracite is under import instead of production, although in the "Analysis" I apply same setting to both Coal Bituminous and Coal Anthracite. The Coal Bituminous "production" can be shown in Energy Balance, but not the Coal Anthracite.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your questions.

    1. Can you please clarify what kind of error message you are getting? There should not be any problems adding electricity as an auxiliary fuel despite it being produced by a higher level module. LEAP can iterate the calculations to ensure additional electricity is generated to meet demands from lower branches. To enable this setting, after adding electricity as an auxiliary fuel, go to the Resource branch for electricity (Resources\Secondary\Electricity) and then change the Unmet Requirements setting to "MeetWithUpstreamModules". For more information on this issue, refer to the following help pages:

    2. If you are not seeing any production for Coal Anthracite mining, it may be because there isn't any capacity or availability for this process. Be sure to check your inputs in Analysis View including the capacity variables, availability, efficiency, and process shares.

    Hope this helps,
    Emily
