    Hello LEAP team!

I was going through the Optimisation Exercise as practice before my course next week. It went reasonably well (had some wind/coal cost inversion in OPT scenario).

However, since then I have tried going into the Optimisation exercise LEAP file (attached) to look at it again, and now it refuses to show me cost results in the scenario, save for Externality costs. I get correct results for added capacity, and each scenario has both CAPEX, OPEX and fuel costs included.

What is wrong with my model, I for the life of me cannot figure it out.

What's more, reopening LEAP without saving doesn't help, so I permanently now have an Optimisation LEAP that doesn't work. Can I download it somewhere? Would it work if I got the LEAP file from a colleagues' PC?

    Hi Gregers -

Hope this doesn't come too late. The reason you were only seeing externality costs in your results was because the Cost-Benefit Boundary (under Basic Params: Costs) was set to "Final Demands", instead of "Complete Energy System". This means that only costs that are specified into the model at the level of final demands or above (in the tree) enter your social cost results.

In future, if you delete the "Freedonia" folder from Documents\LEAP Areas, and restart LEAP, it will reinstall all of the stock exercises from scratch and undo any changes you may have saved to them.

    Best,
    Taylor
