Topic: Licensing question for MS studentSubscribe | Previous | Next

I have a question before I start using LEAP for my studies. I'm a university student and can have my research funded by my department. I wanted to know if I can use the student license for LEAP in that case or does my research have to be completely non-funded (and I can't receive fund even from my own department)? I don't want to do any work and find out later that I can't publish anything because of licensing issues and I'd be really grateful for a response regarding this issue.

    Hi Hamza -

Thanks for your question. If you are a student enrolled in full-time studies doing your own research, then you are eligible for the "Student Research" license. We assume that you are funded to do this research for your own purposes.

The type of use that would be prohibited is if you are doing funded research as a consultant, or providing any type of service for a client. For this, you would need to obtain a different (paid) license.

    Hope this helps,
    Taylor
