    Hello.

I'm new to LEAP and I have a question. I wanted to create a scenario where the availability of coal power plants would increase. I want to see how other sources (like electricity produced by renewables, oil, etc) react and adjust their electricity production in this scenario. I intend to carry out this study for USA market. So, from where does LEAP takes the base year values? Does it by default takes values for the USA market from databases (like Annual Energy Outlook etc), or do we need to provide them manually?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Regards,

    Chandra Sekhar

    Hi Chandra Sekhar,

Users need to create a branch structure based on their project objectives and enter all LEAP values in manually based on the data sources they find.

If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend reviewing LEAP's training materials to become familiarized the software and learn how to input data and create scenarios. The training materials can be found here:

Note that you can view completed versions of each exercise by opening the Freedonia dataset (be sure to save your own working model first!), and selecting Area: Revert to Version from LEAP's main menu. This will allow you to compare your progress against the finished product.

    Thanks,
    Emily
