    Hello!
I'm supposed to model the power generation in Saudi Arabia (where they basically only use oil and gas for their power generation) in LEAP. However, I'm very confused about the different technologies for gas and oil. I have data for the production of crude oil, oil products and natural gas but when I'm supposed to write this in the "electricity generation" branch, I'm not sure which technologies I should add. In Freedonia they only have a technology called "Oil combustion turbine" which, from what I understand, is a combined technology for natural gas and oil. Should I just do one branch like this and sum the production of oil generation and natural gas generation then?
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
LEAP is a very flexible system. You can model it whatever way you want.
In your specific case, you do not need to combine the generation technology from gas and oil in one. You are ought to, as technologies are different, create different processes fro example Oil Combustion Turbine and Natural Gas combustion Turbine separately. In addition, if you sought to more in depth analysis of every power plant, you can create a branch for each power plant as well, which would help not only to separate power plants by type but also their specific lifetime, efficiencies, and other parameters including future interventions.

Hope this will help you out.
