hi everyone, i am doing a case study of a specific region. i am entering the values for electricity generation. i have issue about the units. for instance the capacity production of region is 20,000MW. how I will convert into GWh for historical production input. i am facing difficulty for conversion of it.

This is quite tricky one. The power generation depends on many factors starting form type of generation system, to their operation parameters.
One simple way to estimate this is to look at historical data for specific power generation system for their capacity and and their generation. this would yield an approximate availability factor that power generation system for that specific environment.
for instance, a 1 MW power plant could generate 8760 MWh of electricity, considering it runs 24 hours a day and 365 days a year (and excluding losses)
but if that power-plant, in reality generated only average of 4000 MWh in previous years, it's availability factor is roughly 45.66%. You can use this factor to estimate the output capability of remaining capacity in future years.

However, a true estimate of such generation has a specific method - which you can go in detail if you deem important.
